I`m Paloma, i`m going to try to writte in this blog, i think it´s a good chance to practicing, but there´s a long time since I don´t write English, so Im sorry for the mistakes...
I´ll talk about one of my passions, Mexico. I was living there for a year, and maybe it could be interesting to show something about its culture, good things and also bad things of this wonderfull, and colourfull country, some advices to travel there, and of course it would be nice if you have some questions or things to discuss.
If i had to describe Mexico with just one word, i´m sure it is Colour, everything is Colour there, people, food, landscapes, music...
Why don´t start with tipically topics?People don´t wear a big roun hat, and they aren´t so lazy as they seem. They don´t say "andele ándele" every time, and yes! they use belt, not a rope like cantinflas...And you know what? have you ever seen these round hats, which are sold in chinese shops or markets? These with those little white balls around? I had never see one of those there, they never were mexicans!!

I was in Mexico two years ago, in the honeymoon trip.
Mexico F.D. is not very nice and has a lot of pollution but in the country there are beautiful places.
We had a guide who explained to us the Maya culture and I realized it's impressive!
I like travelling and learning about the customs and cultures of each place ... when you visit a country and you learn something about it, then you feel it different!

About what you say about México D.F, i don´t think the same. I really liked it`, not to live, but to visit, it has beutiful places like Coyoacan, it is my favourite quartier.You can found there people from everywhere and many things about Frida Kahlo.I hope you can visit it the next time.

I stay in mexico when i come back to New york.I stay one week in Rivera Maya and 1 day in D.F.
Rivera maya is a great zone but isn`t better than Punta Cana.
D.F is the hell,i am afraid in the city becouse you have insecurity in all zones, and you can go alone.
Don`t forget the airport control...when i arrived in Riviera Maya,for the pasport control, you must push a bottom of a traffic ligtther behind two police man...If the ligther put in Red,you do the control,open the bags....but if the ligt is green you can pass without the control...
For me isn`t all bad in Mexico.
The maya zone is incredible,the poeple in Riviera the same,and the weather is wonderfull.

I like your post a lot. I think it's very important to know what it's real and what's just a topic or we'll be surprised when we visit an area.
You write quite well in English, don't worry, but just a few comments:
"I’m going to try to write…" just only one "t".
"good chance to practise" remember to write an infinitive after the conjunction "to" and the verb "practise" is written with an "s" .
Wonderful ...Colourful... with just one "l"
"Some pieces of advice" Remember that "advice" is an uncountable noun, so if you want to say it in plural, you have to say "some pieces of advice".
"If you had…" remember that in the second conditional type we use "if past, (main clause) would + infinitive.
"I’d be colour" You have to use "would" because you're talking about an hypothetical situation.
"Why don’t we start by the typical topics / let’s start by …" These are the most common ways to make suggestions, and that's the structure.
Round (I suppose you've forgotten the "d")
"They use a belt / belts"
"I had never seen"
"They were never Mexican" Remember the nationalities are written in capital letters and here "Mexican" is an adjective so it can be plural.
In the comment you say "I'm agree" but remember that in English we say just "I agree" we never use the verb "to be".
Remember that the pronoun "I" it's always in capital letters.
"I can find" the infinitive is "find" the past it's "found".
"thanks for writing" Remember that we use gerund after prepositions.
Sometimes I've noticed that you haven't written some "'" but I know it's just because you were writing quickly.
I like your posts, so go on writing, please. It's funny, we discover a lot of things about different places, and all of us learn a lot.

You're talking about the past, so you have to use past tense. So you'd say "I stayed in Mexico after I had stayed in New York" ..."I stayed one week..."
"I was frightened of being in the city, because you don't feel safe in every area, so you can't go alone" You are talking about the past, so you have to use the past simple and "insecurity" it's used to talk about the "self-confidence"-. And If you don't feel safe, it means you "can't" go anywhere alone.
"When I arrive in Riviera Maya, I noticed that in the passport control..."
"You must push a button on a traffic light" "bottom" is the lowest part of something, and you must use "on".
"policemen" that's the plural form.
"if the light turns red, you have to stop at the passport control, open your bags..." remember that "luz" is "light" in English. "Lighter" is something you use to start a fire or to lit a cigarette.
"but if the light turns green, you can pass through without stopping at the passport control"
For me, it isn't..."
"The Maya area is incredible, and so are the people and the weather is wonderful".
